I truly have loved every Rooftop Film we’ve picked this summer. They’re always characterized by one thing, showcasing how differently people live, and how differently they can look at life. But if asked to choose the one film that I’ll most remember and take away with me, it has to be La Bocca del Lupo, a beautiful documentary about love and memory in the enigmatic seaport city of Genoa.

From my first day at the office to now, the most important thing I’ve learned about working at Rooftop Films is… it is what you make of it. This small, sometimes high stress environment is also the most intensive creative environment, and one from which I have learned a lot.

On August 10 Rooftop is screening the stunning documentary, ‘At The Edge of Russia.’.The film follows six soldiers stationed in one of Russia’s furthest northern outposts. We spoke to director Michal Marczak about realising the film and found out what it’s like to live and work at -40 degrees.
