School of Rock

Richard Linklater | US | 108 min.

2003. With Jack Black, Joan Cusack, Sarah Silverman, Mike White. In a hilarious star performance, Black plays Dewey Finn, an aspiring rocker who is kicked out of his band. In order to make rent, he pretends to be his roommate and takes his job as a substitute elementary school teacher. With no knowledge of the subjects he is supposed to teach, Dewey instead schools the students on what he knows and loves best: rock ‘n’ roll. A movie that will make you want to start your own band, Linklater’s smash hit is filled with popular songs, heart, and a smidge of adult humor.
