Solve puzzles, unlock clues, and explore the city through Rooftop Films’ 30-year history, with a $5,000 grand prize waiting at the finish line!
The Rooftop Treasure Hunt will bring together flocks of game players: indie film buffs, urban adventurers, NYC historians, and anyone who wants to have fun solving tricky puzzles with friends! At stake? A grand prize of $5,000 — plus a trove of other, smaller, treasures.
Challenging participants to untangle a variety of puzzles designed to deliver them to iconic NYC film locations drawn from Rooftop’s rich exhibition history, the grand prize will be awarded to the first entrant to solve the final puzzle and complete the quest. Various other rewards will also be available, and those who make it to the end in time get access to a top-secret event!
Along the journey, you’ll be immersed in unique experiences: hanging out with filmmakers and Rooftop staff, experiencing live performances, and exploring the city in ways you never have before.
While the puzzling can be done from anywhere, you’ll need to visit each location in person to unlock the final challenge, with hints available for purchase along the way. Register now to experience this one-of-a-kind event!

ADVICE FOR SUCCESSFUL PUZZLING
• Build a team: each ticket designates one “Contestant” and point of contact, but how you play together—and divide any treasure you win—is entirely up to you. Puzzling is often more fun and successful in a small group with varied skills!
• Bring your phone and laptop chargers.
• Bring water and snacks.
• Wear comfy shoes and clothes, and prepare for adventure in all weather!
