Victor Kossakovsky | Germany, France, US | 99
An extraordinary journey through the material that makes up our habitat: concrete, and its ancestor, stone. Filmmaker Victor Kossakovsky (Gunda, Aquarela) raises a fundamental question: how do we inhabit the world of tomorrow? An A24 release.
Performer
Andy Clausen
Andy Clausen is a Brooklyn-based trombonist, composer, and producer. He is a founding member of genre-bending brass quartet The Westerlies, an in-demand collaborator with artists including Fleet Foxes, Joanna Newsom, Aaron Dessner, Aoife O’Donovan, Sam Amidon, Haley Heynderickx, and Nico Muhly, and a prolific composer of film, podcast, and concert music. His latest project, Heart of Tones: Solo Trombone at The Tank, explores the most vulnerable and expressive qualities of the instrument, heightened through immersive live electronics and sound design. "A melody from Andy Clausen is pure moonlight. It’s lovely and magical, full of warmth, and it can brighten up the room. But moonlight also is a source of mystery, with ominous overtones and an electric tension" - Bandcamp Daily
