The Films

Retrograde

Adrian Murray | Canada | 74

After a jarring encounter with a police officer leaves her with a minor traffic citation, Molly becomes determined to get the ticket dismissed. But when her housemate refuses to testify as a witness, Molly’s pursuit escalates into a self-destructive obsession that threatens her job, her friends, and her morality. Disquieting and intimate, Retrograde explores truth, justice, and accountability through a dryly comic lense.

Performer

Arthur Moon

Arthur Moon is the moniker of Lora-Faye Åshuvud, a multi-instrumentalist from New York. Åshuvud takes an intuitive and unusual approach to composition, melding pop, electronic, and experimental sensibilities to make music that is as unpredictable and playful as it is intricate and controlled. NPR's Bob Boilen says Arthur Moon "has the quirky freshness I first heard from New York artists such as Laurie Anderson and Talking Heads in the late 1970s and more recently with Dirty Projectors." The Arthur Moon band also includes Cale Hawkins (Raveena, Quincy Jones, Linda Perry), Martin D Fowler (a composer for This American Life), Aviva Jaye (DESSA), and Dave Palazola (Sinkane, Evolfo).
