Good Time

Benny Safdie & Josh Safdie | US | 101

After a botched bank robbery lands his younger brother in prison, Constantine "Connie" Nikas (Robert Pattinson) embarks on a twisted odyssey through New York City's underworld in an increasingly desperate—and dangerous—attempt to get his brother, Nick (Benny Safdie), out of jail. Directors Josh and Benny Safdie (Uncut Gems) set their story throughout Queens, where hard workers come into conflict with hustlers, tract housing developments feel like halls of mirrors, and matters of life and death are settled along the E train. Featuring a never-better Pattinson, a propulsive score by Oneohtrix Point Never, and arresting 35mm cinematography by Sean Price Williams. Part of Museum of the Moving Image's Queens on Screen series.

Bam & Rawls Grab a Slice

Horatio Baltz | US | 5

Bam & Rawls, two bike riders in New York City, stop off for an afternoon snack.

The Big Apple

Igor Bastidas | US | 3

Developed during the animator’s first year in the city, the three-minute animation is a fluid depiction of New York’s vibrancy. Placed in the middle of the frame is an illustrated apple which shifts and transitions, to reveal small New York-based stories at its core.
