[powerpress]

In this episode which are all culled from films from the Tribeca Film Festival 2016, segment 1  [9 mins. 30 secs.] is with filmmaker Liza Johnson (Hateship/Loveship) whose new comedy, Elvis & Nixon, opens Friday, April 22nd around the country. The film stars Michael Shannon as the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll and Kevin Spacey as the fallen president. But the story takes place around the day in 1970 when the two would meet in the Oval Office and have their photo taken. That photo remains, to this day, as the most requested photo from the National Archives.

[30 mins. 30 secs.] Segment 2 is with the team behind a new British comedy called Adult Life Skills. Joining me are the film’s director, Rachel Tunnard, and two of its cast members: Jodie Whitaker and Rachael Deering. The film had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.

[50 mins. 40 secs.] Last up, documentary filmmaker Nancy Buirski (Afternoon of a Faun) with her new film By Sidney Lumet which will be broadcast as part of the American Masters series. The film is a long format interview with the legendary filmmaker shot a couple of years before his death and includes many wonderful clips from his exceptional career.
