Filmwax Radio Live: Montclair Film Festival Edition (Free Event!)

Tomorrow, Friday, April 24th at 6:45PM, join Filmwax Radio host Adam Schartoff for a live version of his popular indie film podcast, Filmwax Radio. The free event will take place at Videology, 308 Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and celebrate the upcoming Montclair Film Festival (May 1st — 9th).

To open the event, Adam will have a conversation with funny man/talk show host Scott Rogowsky. Scott’s own live talk show, Running Late with Scott Rogowsky has become a hot ticket among NYC events, taking place at UCB, Caroline’s on Broadway, among other venues.

After that we’ll bring on Montclair Film Festival Executive Director, Tom Hall, who will talk about his coming aboard the New Jersey festival this year and what we can expect. To lessen the mystery of what we can expect we are then bringing up a series of filmmakers from the festival to talk about their exciting new movies. Among those joining us are Filmwax Radio friend, Jessica Edwards, with her new documentary, Mavis! The film has already met much acclaim and been picked by HBO for a near future broadcast. Jessica will be followed by Morgan Neville (via Skype from Toronto where he is screening his new film, Best of Enemies, at Hot Docs). Morgan, too, has appeared on Filmwax Radio with his prior Oscar-winning doc 20 Feet From Stardom, and we’re thrilled to have him back. The new film which was co-directed by Robert Gordon, looks back at the infamous hatred between intellectuals William F. Buckley and Gore Vidal. Last up, and new to the podcast, filmmaker Chad Gracia and his Sundance hit doc, The Russian Woodpecker. The subject of Chad’s film is unbelievable and so is the film’s primary character, Fedor Alexandrovich, who will also be joining us for the event.

Don’t miss out on all the fun. Videology is only blocks from the Bedford Avenue stop on the L train. It is also within  a few minutes walking distance from the J/M/Z line, Marcy Avenue stop. Please arrive on time to secure a seat.
