Hellion NYC Premiere June 13th!

In 2012, Kat Candler wowed our summer audience with her short film Hellion, which was a part of our selection of Sundance Film Festival shorts. Seven year old Petey is left home alone with his two brothers, and during the six minute film all hell breaks loose as the boys start a bonfire and duct tape the babysitter to the side of the house–and things only unravel further when their dad returns.

In the two years since, Candler has made the short into a feature film starring Aaron Paul and Juliette Lewis. When motocross and heavy metal obsessed, thirteen-year-old, Jacob’s increasing delinquent behavior forces CPS to place his little brother, Wes, with his aunt, Jacob and his emotionally absent father, Hollis, must finally take responsibility for their actions and for each other in order to bring Wes home.

Hellion, which has already received rave reviews at SXSW, San Francisco International Film Festival, and Sundance, is having it’s NYC premiere on June 13th at IFC Center. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Kat Candler and other members of the cast & crew, to be announced! Help support a rooftop alum, and get your tickets now!
