This Weekend: Help Us Make Our 2014 Trailer!

If you’ve been a fan of Rooftop Films for a few years, you surely have seen some of our memorable trailers play before the show starts. Now is your chance to appear in our new trailer. This Friday, April 18th, Rooftop Films will be shooting the trailer for our annual Summer Series at our one of our amazing venues, presenting sponsor Industry City (in Sunset Park, Brooklyn). And we need you, scores of you, to come out and be in the video!

The concept for the trailer, directed by Rooftop’s Founder and Artistic Director Mark Elijah Rosenberg, is “LIGHT THE SPARK” — our fans, our filmmakers, our community, coming together to illuminate the city. We can’t give away too much now, but you’ll be called on as a dynamic part of the trailer which will eventually be seen by some 40,000 people on rooftops across the city all year long.

If you are interested in participating, please email trailer@rooftopfilms.com. Please include: your name, your cell phone number, if you are available 7pm-11pm or 7pm-4am, and if you are available Saturday night if it rains on Friday).

We need as many extras as possible to be at Industry City from 7pm-11pm on Friday night, April 18. We also need about 10-20 featured extras who can stay for the entire shoot (possibly until 4am) to play the main roles. So please indicate how late you are willing and able to stay, and if you’re available on Saturday in the event of Friday rain. All extras will receive food and drink on set, plus two free Rooftop tickets. Featured extras will receive a free Rooftop Films Single Membership (valid for every regularly priced show all season long!)

Please bring your own lights! Lighters, matches, iPhones, glow sticks, etc. are ideal. Other funky lights are highly encouraged. If you have a small portable TV, or a cool miner’s hat, or something we’ve never seen before that lights up, bring it!

And if you have any special talents (Unicycling? Juggling?), let us know! We’ll light you up and show you off. You all will be the spark for Rooftop Films in 2014.
Exact details will be forthcoming when you RSVP to trailer@rooftopfilms.com.

If you can’t participate on Friday or Saturday but want to help out, let us know, as we could possibly use volunteers during the week to gather props and gear. And if you need a taste of previous years trailers, check these out:
