Medora, Documentary Screening on PBS

Directed by Andrew Cohn and Davey Rothbart, and produced by Steve Buscemi, the documentary Medora stars your basketball team in the small town you grew up in. It stars a group of teenage boys who want nothing more than to redeem the Hornets to its original rep; to end the losing-streak, not only for the school but for the whole town.

Thanks to Piper Heidsieck Champagne and the Angel Orensanz Center, Rooftop Films was able to hold a special preview screening of Medora this past November with a Q&A with the filmmakers and producer Steve Buscemi, as well as a live performance of the band Lapland. Continuing the major success of this documentary, PBS will be screening Medora as part of the Independent Lens series this Monday, March 31st at 9/10 Central.

This is for all the people who grew up in a small town; for all the people whose parents wanted the best for them, whose friends were their families, and whose sports team was their job. This is for everyone who doesn’t give up because they’ve lost in the past.
