Every year from May to August, we’re busy putting on screenings all over the city for the Summer Series, at Coney Island, and outdoor series all over the city. Sometimes, we’re putting on shows 7 days a week. Besides making Rooftop very very busy, it also means we need a lot of equipment to pull it off. So once our season winds down, we like to make our tech available to others.
And since Rooftop doesn’t buy equipment just to rent it like a typical rental house, we can charge less. We rent it at reduced rates to make a little money for our organization and to help like-minded artists with their events. We make a little money, you save a lot of money and more great events can happen!
Our clients have put on events and screenings for years from small parties to thousand-person audiences. And that’s certainly not limited to movies – our equipment can be used for film backdrops, presentations, weddings and more. Back in 2010 we helped the DUMBO BID put on a huge public screening of the World Cup under the Manhattan bridge.

Reserve a projector and a 6, 7, or 8 foot wide screen for only $120 ($95 if you are a Rooftop Films member or non-profit institution), or upgrade to a full HD package for $245 ($210 for Rooftop members or non-profits).
