Keep Me Upright at Margaret Mead Film Festival Nov 30

The annual Margaret Mead Film Festival kicks Thursday, November 29 and ends December 2 and this year brings creative stories from around the world with the theme Whose Story is It? As the preeminent showcase for contemporary cultural storytelling, the Margaret Mead Film Festival brings the work of filmmakers from several countries, including Brazil, Chile, Egypt, India, Indonesia, New Zealand, Nicaragua, and Pakistan.

This year, we have partnered with Margaret Mead to present a special screening of Keep Me Upright on Friday, November 30 at 6:30pm at the The Leonhardt People Center located in the American Museum of Natural History. Keep Me Upright (Tiens moi Droite) is an intimate and wry self-portrait that celebrates the healing qualities of art and the power of defining one’s own story. This film, five years in the making, addresses the filmmaker’s (who suffers from scoliosis and a large angioma of the left brain) delicate, poignant, and very personal subject matter with humor and spirit.

Tickets are on sale now for the festival and for Keep Me Upright.
