Rural Route Festival Returns to Queens

Following  a  tour around-the-world, the Rural Route Film Festival returns for a 7th edition.  From Aug 3-7, 2011, the festival takes place in the culturally rich neighborhood of Astoria, Queens

Sponsored by The National Development Council, Prime Focus Studios, Green Mountain Energy, and Pro Media, the Rural Route Film Festival focuses on all things non-urban, boasting an exciting, quality
line-up of progressive green/agriculture films, indie fiction, international docs, and a diverse array of shorts.

Screenings will be held on top of the city’s largest green roof farm, Brooklyn Grange, and at Socrates Sculpture Park, and  at the newly-renovated Museum of the Moving Image, where you can also check out a brand new, comprehensive exhibit on Jim Henson, whose Kermit the Frog would LEAP at all the “green” in this year’s fest! Most screenings are free with Museum of
the Moving Image admission, with most including Q&A sessions after the screening
