Northside Festival starts TONIGHT

The Northside Festival is beginning this Thursday and will be kicking off it’s film events with a screening of several short films under the collective title This Point in Time, about the people and places of New York City. The Northside Festival  is a new initiative which hopes to bring together creative people from all spheres; providing them with a mutually inspiring platform.

Taking place over a four day period, starting on Thursday, in our beloved Brooklyn, The Northside Festival has conceived an exciting and varied schedule which spans film screenings and concerts in diverse venues across Williamsburg and Greenpoint, as well as art events, as independent artists open up their studios.

The event this Thursday will take place at the indieScreen theater in Williamsburg. Along with screening six short films there will also be a special presentation of Welcome to Pine Point, an interactive video scrapbook about a town that disappeared as well as a Q&A with the filmmakers.  Rooftop Films is very excited to be able to work together with The Northside Festival in promoting the artistic endeavors of the ever-growing creative community  here in Brooklyn and letting the rest of the world in on our secret.

And if that weren’t enough, the winner of this year’s first annual Northside DIY Film Competition will receive cash, equipment rentals, and a special screening here at Rooftop!

Buy your tickets now for this Thursday’s show at indieScreen (285 Kent Avenue, Williamsburg).

You can also buy special four day badges which will get you access to all of the events being organized!
