In 2007, Rooftop Films screened Andrew Garrison’s film Third Ward, TX, an inspiring documentary about the African-American artists who founded Project Row Houses in Houston, revitalized an impoverished community, and fought off big-time developers. Andy’s new film, Trash Dance, is a performance/documentary hybrid, in which Andy followed Houston garbage collectors on their rounds, and recorded a stunningly beautiful garbage dance. At the intersection between social anthropology and art film, ,em>Trash Dance promises to be a fascinating film.
