Rooftop Alum Jesse Epstein’s “Body Typed” Screening Wednesday

Jesse Epstein, a Rooftop alum and one of Filmmaker magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film, has always been drawn to questions about beauty and the impossibility of perfection. Her film The Guarantee tells the story of a dancer being pressured to undergo surgery on his prominent Italian nose. The Sundance award-winning Wet Dreams and False Images shows what happens when a barber obsessed with pin-ups learns about the the realities of photo retouching. And 34 x 25 x 36 investigates what goes into building “the ideal woman of the moment” at the Patina V Mannequin Factory.

All three of these great, thought-provoking films have been shown at past Rooftop Summer Series. And now you can see all three of them, alongside a discussion with Jessie, at Paradigm Shift‘s screening this Wednesday, August 18th. She’ll even be showing a clip of the barber from Wet Dreams and False Images watching the film about him at Rooftop Films.

The screening will be held at The Tank (354 W 45th St between Eighth and Ninth Aves) at 6:30pm. Tickets are only $15 and are available here. Do yourself a favor and get your tickets before they sell out.
