Go See “Trust Us, This Is All Made Up”

Filmmaker and actor Alex Karpovsky is no stranger to Rooftop Films.  Two of the films he directed, The Hole Story, and Woodpecker have screened at past Rooftop Summer Series, and  he had starring roles in this year’s Summer Series favorites Tiny Furniture and Lovers of Hate.

So we were very excited to hear that his latest film Trust Us, This Is All Made Up will be screening from this weekend until next Thursday, August 19th at reRun Theater, the new gastropub movie theater in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Trust Us, This Is All Made Up is a feature length documentary about the legendary long-form improvisation duo TJ Jagodowski and David Pasquesi.

Described by Time Out Chicago as ‘two of the world’s finest practitioners of the art of long-form improv’ and by the New York Times as ‘Second City-seasoned masters’, TJ Jagodowksi and David Pasquesi have become living legends in their field. For the past six years, their performances of entirely improvised, character-driven, often hilarious and wholly original one-hour plays have mesmerized audiences worldwide.

Trust Us, This Is All Made Up,” said the Onion, “is a unique dissection of two unique minds, the science of their collaboration, and the rewards that come from trusting your partner implicitly and getting out of the art’s way. It’s also really effing funny.”

And from Variety: “Karpovsky…does for comedic improvisation what “The Aristocrats” did for the dirty joke: He offers a loosely sociological study of the form while milking the material for sizable laughs.”

We can’t wait. And neither should you. Get your tickets now.
