HELP KEEP ROOFTOP FILMS ALIVE IN 2010
As 2009 winds down, we at Rooftop Films would like to thank you for helping make this our most successful year ever, despite challenging circumstances. At the beginning of the year, the financial crisis dealt Rooftop a number of serious blows. We had to make some painful cutbacks, but thanks to your support—by buying tickets, submitting films, making donations—we were able to present our 13th annual Summer Series as planned. We are still facing financial difficulties, but with your help, we can make it to see another summer of "Underground Movies Outdoors" in 2010. Please make a tax-deductible donation today. Your donation – whether its $1,000 or $100 or $10 – is crucial to that effort. THANKS! THE MARKET AT THE OLD AMERICAN CAN FACTORY A curated makers market of art and design products and services. The Market is a new place to find art and wares designed and manufactured by a broad community of creative makers and organizations, including many based at The (OA) Can Factory. The Market, open 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month, is located in the restored garage of the The (OA) Can Factory, an historic industrial complex that is a curated haven to more than 200 artists, artisans, designers, filmmakers, publishers and non-profit organizations. The Market accompanies other cultural venues based there including Rooftop Films and Issue Project Room.
Information at www.thecanfactorymarket.org RENT OFFICE SPACE FROM ROOFTOP FILMS For the last 5 years, Rooftop Films has had our offices in The Old American Can Factory, at the corner of 3rd Avenue and 3rd Street, along the border between Park Slope and Gowanus. Since our staff shrinks a bit in the fall and winter, we have some extra space available in our lovely and spacious office, so we are looking for subletters for at least the next 6 months (perhaps longer). There are a number of different configurations available. High speed internet access is available, as well as furnished offices with desks and even computers. If you are interested in taking a look at the space or have any questions, please email Dan Nuxoll at dan@rooftopfilms.com. Feel free to forward this email along to others.
