Our friends at Filmwax are hosting a brand new screening series, Movie Night at Franklin Park, beginning this Monday May 21st.
Rooftop is proud to co-present two screenings at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, Andrew Semans’ “Nancy, Please,” and Michael Palmieri & Donal Mosher’s “Off Label.” And don’t miss the other great Rooftop Alums at this year’s fest.
As if you needed another reason to get excited about summer, POV has announced the documentary lineup for their 25th anniversary season on PBS. This year they’ll be showing another excellent selection of films, including a number of Rooftop Alums.
After a great run at the 2011 Rooftop Summer Series, Christian Zwanikken’s robots will return to the screen for a theatrical run! Jarred Alterman’s bizzare and beautiful documentary, Convento, is set to premiere at Brooklyn’s reRun Gastropub Theater beginning next Friday, March 9.
Less than a week remains to see the exhibit “Jim Henson’s Fantastic World,” at the Museum of the Moving Image. Already extended for an additional seven weeks, the exhibit is scheduled to close its’ doors on March 4th.
Enjoy a little midweek thrill[er] with a free screening of Taika Waititi’s latest film Boy, hosted by Brooklyn Vegan this Tuesday February 28th at the Knitting Factory. Following the screening, break out your best moonwalk and dance like it is 1984 with a Michael Jackson themed dance party.
Rooftop partner IFP is on the hunt for first-time filmmakers with feature length films currently in post-production to participate in this year’s Independent Filmmaker Labs.
