Filmmaker Dan Schechter (Supporting Characters) returns to discuss his new movie, Life of Crime, an adaptation of an Elmore Leonard novel and starring Jennifer Aniston, Isla Fischer & yassin bey (aka Mos Def). Dan’s third narrative film concerns Mickey Dawson (Jennifer Aniston), the wife of crooked real-estate developer Frank Dawson (Tim Robbins), who is kidnapped by two common criminals (bey and John Hawkes), who intend to hold her for a $1 million ransom and extort her husband with inside information about his illegal business dealings. But Frank, who is holed up in the Bahamas with his mistress, decides he’d rather not get his wife back, setting off a sequence of double-crosses and plot twists that could only come from the mind of the recently deceased master storyteller. The film is being distributed by Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions, and becomes available in theaters and on demand on Friday, August 29th.

Also a brief conversation with filmmakers Martha Shane & Lana Wilson about their 2013 documentary, After Tiller, which is having its broadcast premiere on POV on Monday, September 1st.
