Last summer, our good friend and acclaimed concert pianist and recording artist Bruce Levingston performed Philip Glass’ “Dracula Suite” live along with a clip from 1931’s Dracula to set the mood for our night of eerie and mysterious short films. Pianist Bruce Levingston, a leading figure in contemporary music and founder of the music foundation Premiere Commission, Inc., brings together three great masters of the past with four of the most important musical voices of our time. Spanning four centuries, the works on this exciting and adventurous program each reflect the deep spirit and timeless influence of Johann Sebastian Bach.

About Bruce Levingston:

Bruce Levingston is one of today’s leading figures in contemporary music. Many of the country’s most important composers have written works for him and his Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center world premiere performances of their works have won notable critical acclaim.

Levingston has appeared in concerts and music festivals throughout the world and  his performances have been broadcast internationally on radio, internet and television. Noted for his creative programming, Levingston has collaborated with some of the most interesting artists of our time, including painter Chuck Close, actor Ethan Hawke, authors Michael Cunningham, Nick McDonell and George Plimpton, composer Philip Glass, Colin and Eric Jacobsen and the Brooklyn Rider quartet, and choreographer Jorma Elo.
