Rooftop alum Jeremy Engle is rewriting the typical high school movie and he needs our support!

Engle, whose award-winning short film Mosquito played in the Rooftop Films 2011 Summer Series, is making a feature film debut with The Teacher, the story of an an idealistic first year teacher.

What’s fascinating about this particular project is that Engle was a public high school teacher for 10 years (and survived!) and now he’s making a film based on some of his experiences. This film will show how public school education fails our students, parents, and teachers alike told through the teacher’s perspective.

The Kickstarter campaign ends April 29th and there are some really amazing prizes including an HD digital download of the film, posters, a postcard, and even original art from De La Vega.

They are $20,000 away so get to pledging!
