Just as Kanye West arrived in Austin to play ACL, I arrived in NYC to kick some serious IFP ass. Well, I hope, anyway. We’ll see how that ass kicking goes. Got here this morning to cooler temperatures. Shock to my system having just battled the brutal Texas summer heat.

And I have to say, I had one of the most pleasant cab experiences in my life. I was having major flashbacks to a year ago when I got into this crazy fight with a cab driver that eventually involved the police. No lie. So I just stared at my cute pot-bellied cabbie all the way to my friend’s apartment smiling and thinking “You’re cool, man”.

I’ve pretty much been writing and rewriting all day. My friend let me make a shit ton of color copies at his NYU office for our look book and marketing materials. “Yay” for friends with fancy NYU offices and not having to spend mad cash at Kinkos!

Tonight I’ll savor a low-key dinner with my high school and college BFFs. And then tomorrow—it all begins. Sadly, I’ll still be doing rewrites and have to ditch some events and parties. No play for Kat. Just more crowded coffeeshops, my trusty laptop and my four pages of script notes.
