The EPIX Movie Free-For-All continues on Monday, July 11, with the first ever screening of Coney Island Flicks on the Beach, presented by EPIX, Veriizon FiOS, NYC and Co., and The Coney Island Development Corp. On Monday we will be screening the Brooklyn disco classic, Saturday Night Fever.

Starting at 7 PM there will be a DJ and dancing on the beach and boardwalk, courtesy of the Coney Island Dancers, and there will even be a special musical presentation by John Travolta impersonator Brian Travolta. Prior to the start of Saturday Night Fever, Rooftop Films will present the short film All City (Take it to the Bridge) by Charlie Ahearn.

And the screenings at Coney will continue every Monday night through the end of August, with screenings of New York classics like Annie Hall and Moonstruck and new releases like Iron Man 2 and Rango, with Rooftop shorts before all of them.

Venue: On the Beach at Coney Island. W 12th and the beach, right near Luna Park.
Train: Take the F train to Coney Island, walk to the beach and make a left.

No admission charge.

Saturday Night Fever: In 1977, John Travolta went from Sweathog to superstar overnight, thanks to some killer moves, a white polyester suit and a disco-licious Bee Gees soundtrack. Humble Brooklyn teenager Tony Manero escapes his blue collar existence every Saturday night, when his confident swagger and fluid hips join forces to make him king of the dance floor. To the rest of us, disco may seem like a passing fad – but to Tony, it’s could be a one-way ticket to his big city dreams.
