Sharon Van Etten is an amazing singer-songwriter who played at Rooftop a couple years ago. Michael Palmieri is a evocative filmmaker who co-directed (with Donal Mosher) the documentary October Country, which Rooftop screened a couple years ago. The two have coupled up to make a simple but luscious music video for her song “For You,” shot in Mike’s (smoky) Portland house, fitting for Sharon’s dreamy sound. It warms our chilled hearts these winter months to see Rooftop’s music and film sides come together like this.

Sharon’s playing at the Bowery Ballroom on Saturday, January 8. Get tickets here.
