We showed Christian Svanes Kolding’s semi-surreal narrative short film The Cowboy Loses His Boots way back in 2002, and so it’s really nice to welcome him back into the Rooftop fold. On May 29, we showed his latest short, The Things We Keep, as part of our Home Movies program. The film consists entirely of objects, and yet it’s surprisingly touching, revealing the character behind it and all the moments, people and places that make up a life. Because of the visual detail, if you saw this film at Rooftop, it’s worth a second, slower look in full screen mode.

More films like it at our documentary short programs “Full Frame” (6/3/10) and “Dangerous Docs” (6/4/10), and at our annual INDUSTRIANCE show (7/2/10), always gorgeous and fascinating.
