Solar One is a solar-powered green energy, arts and education center that focuses on educating the public about the many practical, pragmatic and very much implementable renewable energy sources available. Located just north of Stuyvesant Cove Park at 23rd Street and the East River, the facilities at Solar One are almost entirely solar powered, proving just how much can be achieved with alternative energy sources.

Every summer, Solar One hosts a variety of solar powered outdoor arts events, including Subway Sol concerts and Rooftop Films screenings. Over the past several years, Rooftop and Solar One collaborated for hugely successful 4th of July events along the water, featuring bands, DJs, comedians, movies and an incredible view of the fireworks. We look forward to returning to Solar 1 for more great events in 2010 and beyond.
