HBO Documentary Films

A user-generated chronicle of the 31 days the famed street artist took over New York City. Free screening presented by Rooftop Films, HBO Documentary Films, and DOC NYC.

Banksy Does New York (Chris Moukarbel | NYC | 75 min.)
On October 1st 2013, the street artist known only as Banksy announced a month-long artist residency in New York City. BANKSY DOES NEW YORK is an exhilarating survey and detailed documentation of Banksy’s city-wide art exhibit, which took over the streets of New York, creating a wild and woolly scavenger hunt experience for New Yorkers. Director Chris Moukarbel (HBO’s Me @The Zoo) captures this month of madness, weaving together crowd-sourced, user-generated footage from Banksy-obsessed New Yorkers, whose response became part of the work itself.
