ROOFTOP FILMS SEEKS BANDS FOR 2012

Bruce LevingstonLive music is an integral part of Rooftop Films events. In the past few years, audiences have enjoyed performances by critically acclaimed musicians including Toro y Moi, Braids, Kurt Vile, Julianna Barwick, The Antlers, José González and more.

Most of the well-known acts that have participated in our festival achieved success after their Rooftop performances. In fact, it is a priority for us to give exposure to NEW, EMERGING artists who deserve larger audiences. So...if you are a local act who has only played in your friend's kitchen, a band from out of town that is hustling to organize a first tour, or an international act that wants to play its first show in New York, please send us your music.

Rooftop Films screens a wide variety of films from all over the world and we always try to match the music with the appropriate films. That said, we are interested in musicians working in any and all genres: rock, blues, country, metal, R & B, world, folk, electronic, punk, jazz, latin, hip-hop, experimental— you name it. There is nothing like performing your music live on a rooftop with the sun setting in the distance and your image projected on a big screen behind you. We are excited to have you be a part of one of our unforgettable events.

Please email your submissions to our Music Programmer, Danielle Kourtesis, at rooftopmusic10@gmail.com.

Please include the following in your submission: website with audio samples, live videos (if you have them), and your availability for this summer (May through August). We are very busy and get hundreds of emails.

Unfortunately, we do not have the manpower to reply to all submissions. If we have a slot for you we will be in touch on a rolling basis.
