SPRING 2014 INTERNSHIPS
Rooftop Films is seeking interns for Spring 2014. We welcome graduate students and applicants finishing their 1st year of college (or age equivalent) or older. Applications are due no later than January 20, 2014.
Internships are not paid, but can be done for school credit. Find out your school's internship or field work credit requirements and we will work with you to accommodate them.
Our offices are on the border of Park Slope and Gowanus, near the R, F and G trains in Brooklyn, so please apply only if you will be able to handle that commute.
Festival Interns (3 positions)
A great opportunity for film, arts administration and nonprofit management students as well as young filmmakers: learn how a nonprofit film festival works and see hundreds of great movies.
Candidates would be expected to average at least two days a week in the office, but generally the more time you can commit the better.
Internship tasks can include:
+ Tracking and requesting new independent films
+ Contacting and corresponding with filmmakers
+ Organizing off-season film screenings
+ Fundraising and grant work
+ Organizing and maintaining film databases
+ Print production Audio and video tech work
+ Writing: including the Rooftop blog, social media, press releases and website content
+ General office work
+ Anything else you might be interested in-we want you to see how we work
Candidates should have good experience working with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and experience with Filemaker, HTML, design programs or video editing software is a plus.

Programming Intern (1 position)
Rooftop Films seeks a programming intern to help and assist in the programming of the Rooftop Films 2014 Summer Series. Individuals should have a love of independent and foreign film, be motivated and detail oriented with an interest in film and programming. Individuals would work closely with the program director and members of the programming team to assist in the pre-screening and rating of film submissions, and would participate in the overall programming process.
We welcome undergraduate and graduate students, but must have film education (production and/or film studies). Candidates must have excellent organizational and communication skills, and an enthusiasm for film criticism and/or curation. This internship is an excellent opportunity to participate in the programming process of Rooftop Films, and a great way to learn the inner workings of a film festival. Candidates should be web and computer literate, have superior professional and organizational skills, and be able to work at least 20 hours a week with the possibility of more hours.

ROOFTOP FILMS SEEKS VOLUNTEERS
Rooftop Films Summer Volunteers
As a non-profit arts organization, Rooftop Films depends on volunteers like you for its growth and success. Working with Rooftop is a great opportunity to see fantastic films and live music, find out about the inner workings of film festivals, and meet the Rooftop staff and the filmmakers.
Rooftop will need volunteers for over 40 shows summer 2014,all of which will be outdoors between May and August. Most shows are on Friday or Saturday nights, with some special shows on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Volunteers can help out at as many or as few shows as they are available for.
