NYFVC and Rooftop Films are proud to host a benefit evening of Brooklyn Animation to Benefit Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts
When the storm hit and the damage to our neighbors and friends was so serious (and ongoing), NYFVC and Rooftop Films decided to transform our evening of StoryCorps animation into a benefit to hope those still in need. NYFVC, Rooftop and StoryCorps/Rauch Brothersare donating all our costs and labor for the event so that all proceeds can go directly to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
This evening of animation by StoryCorps and Mike Rauch combines the real stories of everyday people told in their own voices--culled from StoryCorps’ archive of more than 40,000 audio interviews--with the animation of the Rauch Brothers’. While these aren’t hurricane stories, the stories should still resonate with our feeling of connection to each other. A brief Q & A to follow with Mike Rauch and StoryCorps Producer Lizzie Jacobs. Moderated by writer and animator Morgan Miller.
All Proceeds will go to Occupy Sandy Relief, all other costs absorbed by NYFVC and Rooftop Films.
