Rooftop Films Presents: Sunday Night Indie-Horror Marathon
powered by NVIDIA

Rooftop Films and NVIDIA are excited to announce our first ever indie-horror-film marathon that will run throughout the evening on Sunday, October 28th.

The horror marathon kicks off at 4 PM with a reception featuring music, projections, and free food and drink. The films start at 5 PM, with a special screening of Jeremy Saulnier’s Brooklyn-based slasher comedy, Murder Party. Jeremy, a recent winner of a Rooftop Filmmakers Fund grant and will be there to introduce the film and talk about his latest thriller, Blue Ruin.

For the first time ever, Rooftop Films will be screening an entire movie marathon off of a single tablet computer, an NVIDIA-powered tablet. Making use of NVIDIA’s powerfully efficient Tegra 3 quad-core chip, the tablets can play back more than eight hours of HD video on a single battery charge, so Rooftop will not have to plug the tablet into a power source throughout the entire 8 hour horror film marathon.

After Murder Party, the horror continues all night long, and is totally free!

Full Schedule:
4:00 pm: Doors open, reception featuring music and free food and drinks
5:00 pm: Jeremy Saulnier introduces Murder Party
7:00 pm: Rooftop Films Horror Shorts Program 1
8:30 pm: Spencer Parsons introduces Saturday Morning Massacre
10:00 pm: Rooftop Films Horror Shorts Program 2

Murder Party (Jeremy Saulnier | Brooklyn, NY | 80 min.)
It’s Halloween night in Brooklyn. Chris, a lonesome and unremarkable fellow, finds a mysterious invitation on the street and follows it to what he thinks will be a fun costume party. It turns out to be a lethal trap set by a gang of deranged hipster artists. Their plan is to lure someone to their remote warehouse base and ritually murder them as part of an extreme artistic event. It’s all to impress their wealthy and sinister guru/patron, who soon arrives with promises of grant money and his dead-eyed henchman. As the booze-and-drug-fueled night wears on, rivalries within the group flare up with violent consequences. A body count accrues and Chris must take advantage of the ensuing chaos if he’s ever to escape the warehouse and survive the night.
