Terence Etc. was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He comes from a family of musicians who have played for legends like Lucky Peterson and James Ingram. Terence began writing music and learned to play various instruments as a young child sitting in on his uncles' studio sessions. He moved to New York City as a visual art student, and has since included music and filmmaking in his art-making lexicon. His music can be classified as "Art - Funk" and his debut album is set to be released next year. The music draws on familiar funk influences like Stevie Wonder and Funkadelic as well as less obvious composers like Andrew Lloyd Weber, Dilla, Leadbelly, the Kronos Quartet, Ira Gershwin, and Thelonius Monk. Terence currently resides in Bed - Stuy BK along with the rest of the Swarm.
